This weekend our U17’s are off to the Manchester Aquatics Centre in search of a National Age Group Championship medal. What colour it will be will all depend on today’s Semi-Final match against City of Sheffield.
The team have arrived at the finals following a 100% campaign having negotiated their preliminary round of four matches back in early March beating Leeds, Northampton, Bristol & Welsh side Cwm Draig.
The team then won both of their qualifying matches in Manchester in Mid-March beating both Beckenham & Bridgefield to make Finals weekend.
Today (Saturday) at 2.30pm the team face City of Sheffield, Runners up in their qualifying grp, in the second Semi-Final and should we progress we will face either City of Manchester or Beckenham from the first Semi-Final on Sunday Lunch time.
Head Coach Edi Brkovic commented
“we have had a good campaign so far but our aim is to make the finals so today’s match is key to achieving that aim. Sheffield have a strong side but we go to Manchester full of confidence & if we stick to our game plan we can progress”.
The Watford U17’s team for Finals weekend is as follows:
Max Cane (GK), Elias Thierry, Adam Lecomber, Toby Roberts, Rushil Patel, Rushil Shah, William Chapman, Daniel Atkinson, Joshua Mills, David Cai, , Jack Gibson, Robert Gilmour.
