This weekend (9th & 10th March) see’s the final round of BWPL Championship Two matches to be held at Grantham pool Lincolnshire.
Watford currently sit third in the table two points clear of West London Penguins and the team will gain promotion back to Division two for the start of the 2019/20 season with victory over Manchester Hawks on Saturday lunchtime.
Should Watford claim the victory and promotion then they will go into Sunday’s match against league leaders City of Bristol with a chance of claiming the Championship title.
They are a few twists and turns to go in the hunt to secure promotion as fourth placed Penguins still have a chance of promotion but they would need to win both their matches against Southampton & Worthing and should Worthing lose to both Croydon & Penguins it could see Watford take the Runners up spot if they failed to beat Bristol.
Watford do also have the comfort that should Penguins lose one of their two games & Watford fail to win either of there two matches then Watford would still get promotion based on the head-to-head result when we beat Penguins 13-9 back in January.
However Head coach Edi Brkovic wasn’t thinking that far ahead “The team’s focus is on winning Saturday’s game, we need to achieve this aim first before we can consider titles”
Watford team for the weekend’s two matches is:
Peter Pickford (GK), Nandi Cseh, Jared Baker, David Koncz Cameron Baker, Petar Djordic, John Pickford, Jack Pickford, Steven Behr, Adam Page, Will Eggleton, Ramon Fernandez, Jack Warman.
