A Hat-trick of Penalties in final quarter lifts 1st team to top of Premier Division….

Our Men’s 1st team won a thriller at Woodside last night beating London Otter 13-12, the result moved us top of the London League Premier Div after four games played.

Qtr scores were 2-3, 2-4, 3-2, 6-3.

Going into the final quarter we were trailing by two at 7-9 but an early goal from Ramon Fernandez had us back within one at 8-9. Otter were determined not to let the game slip away and responded immediately to open a two goal lead again at 8-10  but within 25 seconds a goal from Zach White from 4 metres had us one behind at 9-10.
Back came Otter and pilling pressure on our defence gave them a man-up opportunity which they put away for 9-11. The next attack saw Watford create a man-up which we missed but with Otter moving into attack Josh Brown stole the ball on half-way and feed White to score for 10-11. A great piece of interception play.

With 2.52 remaining Watford pushed forward and Adam Page swam in on goal and was fouled from the resulting penalty Hamish Critchton scored to level the match at 11-11. The game was now there to be won..

2.18 to play another Watford attack another penalty, Otter were starting to panic, that man Hamish calmly put his side in front at 12-11. From the restart Otter attached but our defence held firm and winning the ball back another attack and another Penalty, Hamish again for 13-11.

With the clock ticking down Otter pushed for a goal and were rewarded for 13-12 and then with only 8 seconds remaining they won possession and called a time-out but our defence again stood firm as the final shot sailed over the bar and we won a game we had trailed for the majority of the match.
